The Yukon Flats Indigenous Language Revitalization Institute is featured on HBO’s “Vice.”
During the week of August 12-16, 10 people representing the CATG region and the Fairbanks Native Association Language Program participated in a curriculum and language development workshop facilitated by the Indigenous Language Institute (from Santa Fe, NM). This week long workshop featured training on the creation of curriculum materials for the instruction of indigenous languages.
Congratulations are extended to Ryan Christian of Venetie for his successful completion of the GED requirements! Ryan completed his final GED exam with The Literacy Council of Alaska during the week of July 30th. Ryan participated in two GED preparation workshops hosted by YGS. His testing fees and travel were provided by the YGS grant. …

We are busy planning a number of upcoming workshops/courses/events. GED/CTE Courses In January we offered a two-day workshop for adults interested in obtaining their GED. Barrie Greenfield with the Literacy Council of Alaska visited Fort Yukon at the end of the month to help students prepare for the GED exam (which consists of 4 tests). …
